Ukunda · Family Holiday
Diani’s patches of coastal forest are home to the Angolan colobus monkey, and Colobus Conservation is the local organisation that works to protect the monkeys and their habitat. This half-day is the simplest and most affordable outing on our Ukunda list: a short guided walk, a chance to learn about the wildlife of the coast, and the rest of the time on the beach.
A guide leads you along forest trails and explains the colobus, other monkeys and the forest around them, and why the conservation work matters. Wildlife moves freely, so what you see changes from day to day and cannot be guaranteed. Entry or tour fees support the conservation work and are itemised in your quote.
After the walk your driver takes you to Diani Beach, where you can swim, walk the sand or have lunch at a beachside restaurant, and then returns you to your hotel at the time you choose.
The programme is short, uses a standard vehicle and leaves meals and drinks to you, so the cost stays low. It works well for families, for the first or last day of a stay and for anyone who has already spent on a bigger excursion.
Wear comfortable shoes, a hat, sun cream and insect repellent, and bring water. The walk is gentle, and we confirm the timing and fees in your written quote.
