This itinerary covers the same Maasai Mara game viewing as our lodge-based safaris, at a lower cost, by using budget dome-tent camping at a site near the reserve instead of a lodge or luxury tented camp. It suits backpackers, groups, and anyone who is happy to trade some comfort for a lower price without giving up the wildlife.

How the three days work

Day one is the drive from Nairobi with an afternoon game drive on arrival. Day two is a full day in the reserve, with morning and afternoon drives. Day three is a final morning drive before the return to Nairobi.

Good to know

The price shown is a guide per adult sharing a twin tent, full board, with shared washroom facilities at the campsite (not en-suite). A sleeping bag can be hired if you do not have your own — ask when requesting your quote.
