Overview

Two parks, one budget-friendly route

This itinerary adds Lake Nakuru — a fenced rhino and lion sanctuary known for its birdlife — to our Mara budget camping safari, on the Nairobi–Nakuru–Mara route that most overland trips already follow, so no extra backtracking is involved.

How the four days work

Day one is the drive to Lake Nakuru with an afternoon game drive. Day two continues to the Maasai Mara, arriving in time for an afternoon drive. Day three is a full day in the reserve. Day four is a final morning drive before the return to Nairobi.

Good to know

The price shown is a guide per adult sharing a twin tent, full board, shared washroom facilities at both campsites (not en-suite). A sleeping bag can be hired if needed.

    Morning and afternoon game drives across the reserve.

    A last morning drive, then the drive back to Nairobi.
