Overview

Two parks by train, with the road driving kept short

This itinerary covers both Amboseli and Tsavo West while replacing the long Nairobi road drive with the Madaraka Express to Voi, from where our vehicle handles the (much shorter) transfers between the station and each park.

How the three days work

Day one is the train to Voi and the road transfer into Amboseli, with an afternoon game drive. Day two moves on to Tsavo West via road, with wildlife viewing continuing en route, plus an afternoon drive on arrival. Day three is a final Tsavo West game drive before the transfer back to Voi for the return train.

Good to know

The price shown is a guide per adult sharing a twin room, standard-class SGR tickets included both ways, full board across two nights. Road time between Voi, Amboseli and Tsavo West remains part of this itinerary — only the Nairobi leg is replaced by rail.

Frequently asked questions

Is there much driving despite the train?

Some — the transfers between Voi and each park still involve a few hours of road time, though far less than driving the whole route from Nairobi.
