Amboseli, reached by train

This is our classic 3-day Amboseli safari with one change: instead of driving from Nairobi, you travel by the Madaraka Express (SGR) to Voi, the nearest station to the southern parks, where our vehicle meets you for the road transfer into Amboseli. It suits travellers who would rather sit back and watch the scenery than spend four hours behind the wheel each way.

How the three days work

Day one is the train journey to Voi followed by the road transfer into Amboseli, with a game drive on arrival if time allows. Day two is a full day of game drives. Day three is a final morning drive before the road transfer back to Voi and the return train to Nairobi.

The price shown is a guide per adult sharing a twin room, and includes standard-class SGR tickets both ways; first class can be arranged at a supplement. Train schedules are set by Kenya Railways and are confirmed with your final itinerary.
