You are met at the passenger terminal shortly after clearance and driven inland in a 4x4 safari vehicle. Once inside the park, red-earth plains, scattered baobab and the Galana River are home to elephant, buffalo, lion, giraffe and Tsavo’s famous dust-red elephant herds, though wildlife is never guaranteed. A packed lunch is eaten inside the park so no time is lost searching for a restaurant, and the return drive is scheduled to have you back at the terminal well ahead of the ship’s stated all-aboard time, with a safety margin built in for traffic.
