 Shimba Hills National Reserve is great attraction on a Kenya safari. The reserve is a protected area located in Kwale country, coast province, Kenya. Day 1: Departure.

On the first day of the safari your safari guide from Spotkenyasafaris represenative will pick you up from your hotel or from your residence in Diani Beach or Mombasa at 6:00am, he will welcome you and brief you about the safari. After the safari, you will drive to Shimba Hills National Reserve which is approximately 1.5 hours with the beautiful views of the landscape along the way.

7:30 am-Arrival. Once you arrive the reserve you will enter Shimba Hills National reserve. And later at around 8:00 am immediately you start your morning game drive and the full exploration of the reserve. You will sight animal species like elephants, giraffes, antelopes, genets, hyenas, waterbucks, bush pigs, buffaloes, bushbucks, bush babies and among many others. Also you will spot bird species like Cuckoos, Guinea Fowls, African Bonelli’s Eagles, Honey Scorpions, and Sunbirds and among many others. As you explore the reserve’s scenic roads and trails.

You can as well visit the Sheldrick Falls and other scenic viewpoints in the reserves that offers you unforgettable safari memories. From 12:30 pm you will go for the lunch break, you will take a break for lunch at the reserve’s picnic area or a designated lunch spot. You can enjoy either packed lunch or purchase food from the reserve’s restaurant nearby.

After lunch at around 1:30 pm you will have more exploration of the reserve’s trails and the beautiful viewpoints, as you spotting various animal species, bird species, butterflies and many other smaller wildlife at the many in the reserve, after the experience you will depart the reserve at around 3:30 pm and head back to your residence or to your hotel in Mombasa. You will arrive at around 5:00 pm that will make your safari come to the end
