Masai Mara Adventure Camping and Lake Nakuru
After breakfast leave for Masai Mara Game reserve. There will be a stop at the view point of the Great Rift Valley whose view of the valley below is splendidly panoramic and another stop for lunch at Narok town. On arrival proceed on a game drive in this famous reserve, due to its high animal concentration and abundance and its yearly seasonal migration of wildebeest and zebra. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.
This will be a day of tracking game with your guide, after an early breakfast. The Mara’s landscape is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills which enables the reserve to attract sufficient rainfall to maintain and support a large population of herbivores, together with the predators that follow. Elephant, lion, buffalo can be seen with relative ease though luck is a necessary factor for spotting rhino and leopard that complete the big five as the two animals are very timid and sparsely numbered. Plains game like wildebeest, zebra and Masai giraffe abound as well as hippos and a wide variety of antelopes including impala, dikdik, hartebeest, grant gazelle and Thompson’s gazelle among others. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool. In the evening, return to the campsite for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, have a morning game drive with your guide in this reserve which borders Tanzania’s Serengeti National park and is the annual seasonal scene of the migration of close to 800,000 zebra and wildebeest that occurs between the two parks.Depart for Lake Nakuru National park with a stop for lunch enroute. You will have scenic view of Lake Naivasha and Mt Longonot which are in the Great Rift Valley from afar on the main highway. Arrive in time for dinner and overnight
Leave for a morning game drive after breakfast in Lake Nakuru National park, which has a fantastic of birdlife including flamingos, white pelicans and marabou stork. You may spot white rhino and the rare Rothschild’s giraffe that has five horns instead of the usual three and clear instead of spotted shanks (legs). A visit to baboon cliff offers a scenic view of the lake below and acacia forest. After lunch leave for Nairobi arriving in the early evening.
